The first part of STiMULANT: PLAY WITH: MY PERCEPTION is focusing on mesh garments which are being closed through an intricate pattern of lascercutted leather pieces. This enables the costume design to cater towards a more inclusive performance art industry as the garments can be adapted
towards different body types .
Furthermore this working method enables the performer to easily shift the costume for a variety of concepts through requiring and lacing additional engraved or printed elements into the dress.
The two bodies have been placed within a space and the invitation to explore the movement triggered by the multi-sensorial experience before starting to question their relative impact on each other.
The designers personal fascination for rope work and the unique properties of wet
molding leather lead towards the exploration of the physical relationship between the
dancer as leather pieces have been placed in the space between the two bodies.
The heat and breath of the wearer lead towards a memory process of the leather
which can be found in the final hip piece of the collection .
